and March 20-23, 1989, of activities at Fermi Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 2
Jauthorized by NRC Operating. License No. NPF-43 and to the discussion of
our findings withLyou and others of your staff at the conclusion.of the
-inspection on March 23, 1989.

The enclosed ~ copy of our. inspection report identifies areas examined during-
.the inspection. . Within these areas, the inspection consisted of-a selective
examination of-procedures and representative records, observations, and
.
interviews with personnel.
During-this' inspection, certain of.your activities appeared.to be in
'
violation.of-NRC requirements, as described in the enclosed Notice. The
inspection determined that actions have been taken to correct the identified
violation and to preventJtecurrence. Our understanding of your corrective
. actions is' described.in Paragraph 3 of the enclosed inspection report.
Consequently, no reply'to this violation is required and we have no further-
questions regarding this matter at this time.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Comission's regulations, a copy of
.this letter, the enclosures, and your response to this letter will be placed
in the NRC Public Document Room.
