Subject:
NRC Examinations at San Onofre Unit 1 On July 28 through August 6, 1987, the NRC administered examinations to employees of your company for licenses to operate your San Onofre Nuclear Generating Unit 1.
At the conclusion of the examination process NRC examiner concerns were discussed with your staff personnel. A major concern identified was the adequacy of the reference material provided to the examiner for the preparation of the examination.
With respect to the concern noted above, we would like to point out that attachment 1 to our letter to you dated March 11, 1987 states that failure to provide adequate reference material will result in cancelling and rescheduling of an examination. Therefore, it is requested that you provide us a response to our concern indicating the action you will take to insure that complete and up-to-date reference material is provided for the preparation of future examinations.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and enclosures (1) and (2) will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room. Enclosure (3) is personal Privacy Information and will be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 9.5(a)(6).
