0FFICE OF ADMINISTRATION REVIEW OF ANPRM REGARDING RADI0 ACTIVE WASTE BELOW REGULATORY CONCERN The Office of Administration (ADM) has reviewed the draft ANPRM that would amend 10 CFR Parts 2 and 20 regarding the disposal of radioactive waste deemed to be below regulatory. concern. ADM concurs, based on your acceptance of our comments regarding the Summary statement and your consideration of ADM's remaining comments, as shown on the. enclosed copy of the draft ANPRM.
If you have not yet obtained ED0 approval for this rulemaking effort as required by the ED0's memorandum dated February 13, 1984, you should submit the rulemaking review package to the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research immediately.
The Summary statement should include information regarding who will be affected by the rulemaking and what the anticipated results of the rulemaking will be, especially from the standpoint of protection of public health and safety and the environment.
In several places, we have provided rewrites of the text in order to present the information in chronological order (e.g., the rewrites for the cover memorandum to the ED0 and the background paragraph in the draft Commission paper).
Also enclosed is an Agenda entry for your review, comment, and completion. In order to get a head start for the preparation of the Regulatory History, we have obtained an RIN number for this rule which is AC35 0. This will enable you to begin placing this number in the right-hand corner of the pertinent ,
