'This refers to the, routine s'afety inspection conducted by Mr. J. A. Gavula of

this office on April'20-22, and August 18, 1987, of activities at Zion Station,

Unit 2, authorized by NRC Operating License No. DpR-48 and to 'the discussion

of our findings with' Mr. G. Plim1 and others at the conclusion of the inspection.

The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during

the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective

examination of procedure's and representative records, observations, and

interviews with personnel.-

During this inspection, certain of your activities appeared to be in violation r

of NRC requirements, as specified in the enclosed Notice. ' A written response
