SUBJECT:
CATEGORICAL EXCLUSION FOR AMENDMENT REQUEST DATED JULY 23, 1987, AND SUPPLEMENT DATED AUGUST 14, 1987, RE CALCIUM FLUORIDE PROCESSING By letter dated July 23, 1987, Westinghouse Electric Corporation requested an amendment to License No SNM-1107 that would permit them to dewater calcium fluoride and ship it offsite for drying and eventual encapsulation or briquetting.. This change merely transfers one operation,. drying, from onsite to offsite facilities but does not compromise environmental protection.
l Accordingly, the staff has concluded that'the following conditions have been met:
1.
There is no significant change in the type or significant increase in the amount of any effluents that may be released offsite, 2.
There is no significant increase in individual or cumulative occupational I
radiation exposure, 3.
There is no significant construction impact, and 4.
There is no significant increase in the potential for or consequences from radiological accidents.
Therefore, in accordance with 10 CFR 51.22(c)(11), neither an Environmental Assessment nor an Environmental Impact Statement is warranted for this proposed action.
