EQUIPMENT CLASSIFICATION FOR QUAD CITIES NUCLEAR POWER STATION (TAC N05. 52782.& 52783)
Commonwealth Edison Conipany (CECO) was required by Generic Letter 83-28 Item 2.1 (Part 1) to confirm all Reactor Trip System components are identified as safety-related in plant documents, procedures, and information handling systems used to control activities performed on these components. A detailed review of the CECO response is documented in contractor report EG&G-NTA-7190. The NRC staff concurs with the-contractor's findings and concludes that Ceco's response for Generic Letter 83-28 Item 2.1 (Part 1) is acceptable. The staff's Safety Evaluation (SE),
including applicable portions of the contractor report, is enclosed.
Generic Letter 83-28 Item 2.1 and its associated TAC number will remain outstanding until the Vendor Interface portion (Part 2) of item 2.1 has been resolved.
