i M0tTIELY 0 PIRATING REIVRT - JULY 1987 l
At the_ beginning of the report period, Oyster Creek was oprating at maximum load, 633 We.
On July 1,
power wa s reduced to 512 We to repla_e the brushes on a recirculation pump motor generator set.
Power was st.osequently returned to maximum load.
On July 9 while operating at 622 MWe, a
feedwater regulating valve malfunctioned causing a feedwater transient and subsequent reactor feed pump trip.
Power was reduced to 433 We to repair the feedwater regulating valve and to evaluate seal leaks.
The reactor feed pump was returned to service on July 11 and power was increased to 540 We.
On July 11, power was reduced to 294 We to replace a belt on a trunnion room cooling fan.
Between July 12 and 15, power was maintained between 515 and 578 We due to the environmental limit on discharge canal temperatures.
On July 15 power was increased to approximately 610 We, limited by the second stage reheaters being removed from service to support repairs to two (2) steam leaks in the condenser bay.
Repairs were completed on July 17 and the plant was returned to maximum load.
Plant load was again - reduced on several occasions due to the environmental limit on discharge canal temperatures.
On July 26, power was reduced to 400 We to stabilize reactor building closed cooling water temperature when a service water pump tripped.
Following seal repairs, the pump was returned to service and power was increased to 630 We by July 27.
On July 30, the reactor scrammed on high pressure when an air supply valve manifold f ailed, causing a main steam isolation valve to close.
A reactor cool down was in progress at the end of the report period.
