In letters dated October 14, 1987, and November 13, 1987, South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCELG) provided a proposed amendment to the Virgil C.
Summer Nuclear Station Physical Security Plan and an implementation schedule for modifications designed to upgrade the location of secondary power supply system components to vital areas.
Mr. Barry Manili, on December 3, 1987, identified several areas of theSubsequen submittal which needed revision prior to receiving Commission approval.
As agreed upon during this discussion please revise our submittal as follows:
1.
Page 5-3 should be removed and disregarded since it does not directly apply to the miscellaneous amendments.
SCELG will submit the change contained on this page to Region II under 10CFR50.54(p).
2.
The attached page 10-34, Section 10.4.3 has been amended to delete the proposed " interim" compensatory measures.
.A commitment is added that " security officers will be posted at each area identified in Section 10.4.2 which does not meet vital area protection criteria at the end of the 180 day implementation schedule.
This compensatory measure will remain in effect at each area until the required modifications are completed."
