This letter refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by $. Chaudhary
of this office on September 14-17, and 21-23, 1987 at Three Mile Island Unit 1,
Middletown, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Chaudhary discussed the findings of the
inspection with Mr. C. W. Smyth of your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinat'ans of precedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified.
