This is in response to your letter of December 5,1986 to the NRC Region III >
Administrator requesting the approval of the. relocation of the backup Emergency.
1 Operations Facility (E0F) for the Zion Nuclear Station.from Libertyville, J
Illinois to the Corporate Command Center in Chicago.
You are hereby advised that the Commission has agreed to approve your, request -
to relocate the Zion backup E0F as an exception to the location requirements 1
'J for such facilities. This approval only applies-to the location of this backup' E0F. Approval of the other features of this facility, as well as the approval of the other Zion Emergency Response facilities (ERFs), will be determined by an NRC post implementation inspection on a schedule'to be developed between your staff and the NRC regional office.
