The Co m onwealth Edison Company notified the Chicago Regional Office on September 12, 1975, that the containment spray system sprayed the ,

containment for a 2 minute period at 0237 hours0.00274 days <br />0.0658 hours <br />3.918651e-4 weeks <br />9.01785e-5 months <br /> during the conduct of a I planned surveillance test due to an incorrectly positioned ma,nual valve.

_ Af ter receiving erroneous rod position indications, the operator manually

==gr-scramed the reactor. No other anomalies were noted prior to the scram. l g~ Subsequent to the scram, random DC grounds were observed. The licensee

( estimates that 2000 gallons of borated water were sprayed into containment.

No personnel were in containment during the event. No releases occurred I outside of containment. The licensee is reviewing corrective action for {

any damage which may have occurred as a result of the spray actuation. l A Region III inspector has been dispatched to the site. );
