Chairman Jackson's Comments on SECY 98-117 i
Due to the precedent setting nature of this proposal, I disapprove the staff's proposed alternatives for proceeding with the license termination review at this time. I instead concur with Commissioner Dieus's comments that the staff should request that ISCORS review and comment on the conceptual aspects of the proposal. As stated in Commissioner Dieus comments the staff is to be commended for developing this innovative approach for_ resolving u
this longstanding and difficult problem. The results of the review by ISCORS should be provided to the Commission with any necessary revisions to the staff's proposed approach.
