Elma," Washington ' 98541-1223 Attention:
Mr.. G. C. Sorensen, Manager Regulatory Programs Gentlemen:
l
SUBJECT:
ACCEPTANCE OF CHANGES TO THE QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM FOR NUCLEAR PROJECT 3 On September 30, 1987 you submitted Section 17.3 to the FSAR which describes the QA program applicable to the WNP-3 project during the preservation stage.
This new addition to the FSAR addresses the organizational changes and responsibilities for implementing the QA program. The QA program describing activities affecting areas other than organization are as described in FSAR Sections 17.1.1.4 through 17.1.4.3.
Based on our review of the changes addressed in Section 17.3 of the FSAR we find that the QA program description for the preservation stage of WNP-3 satisfies the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix B and is, therefore, acceptable.
If there are changes to other operative QA commitments existing in docketed correspondence outside of the SAR QA program description, you are obligated to notify this office.
Implementing such changes should be basedon10CFR50.55(f)(3).
Any questions you may have concerning this review should be directed to W. J. Wagner of my staff on (415) 943-3731.
Sincerely.
/ 5,/
