3 O ;fa < US Tool and Die"drawin'gs'which detail the lifting and handling rigs I will-be transmitted under a separate letter. The lifting and handling rigs H have.been: designed.in accordance with NURBG-0612.and as such are single failure proof. U ; l ITEM'2 - Regarding Question #10 [:

Provide drawings' r' reference FSAR figures which can be read to (a) o define the transport path of.the racks through the reactor

'~ . buildings to their; installation or storage location (s). (b). Provide discussion about why Figure 10-2 shows two load paths. L (c) Identify. obstacles over which the racks will have to be lifted such .that they are more than two feet above the refuel floor. (d) For these obstacles, identify how much clearance will be provided and what this height will be from the floor itself.

The racks will be received at LaSalle through the bomb-bay doors located on the Unit 1 side of the station..This entry is positioned between -column' rows 14 and 15 on row A. From this point, the racks will be lifted r L. to.the refuel floor through the equipment hatch directly west of the " bomb-bay doors. Once on the refuel floor, the modules will be installed or ' ~ stored depending.upon shipment schedules and installation progress. If the 7 ' racks cannot.be immediately installed, they will be moved into Unit 1 as ^ shown by path 1 on figure 10-2 to a suitable temporary storage location. s; . Racks to'beLinstalled will follow load path 2. During the movement of the p[ racks along.either. path 1 or 2, there are no obstacles over which the racks will have to.be lifted. -The normal height above the floor while a module is l traveling will bel limited to 1 to 2 feet.
