From April 26 through June 6,1998, a routine inspection was conducted at your San Onofre  !

Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3 reactor facilities. The enclosed report presents the

l scope and results of that inspection.

l During the 6-week period covered by this inspection, your conduct of activities at the

San Onofre facilities was generally characterized by safety-conscious operation, sound

l engineering and maintenance practices, and careful radiological work controls.

l in accordance with 10 CFR 2,790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its

i enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
