REPORT NOS. 50-413/87-14 AND 50-414/87-14
This will acknowledge receipt of your response of July 9, 1987, to our Notice
of Violation issued on June 9,1987, concerning activities conducted at your
Catawba facility.
We accept your assessment that personnel error caused the violation, however,
we have concluded that your written procedures remain inadequate.
Your
response is unsatisfactory in that corrective actions to be taken to avoid
further violations should not be based on informal " penciled in" instructions
but must be based on a more formal administratively controlled action. Written
instructions for informing security must be administratively controlled.
Therefore, please submit a revised response to this office by August 28, 1987.
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
