REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - LCA 150 - POWER LOCK 0UT OF ACCUMULATOR ISOLATION VALVES (TAC NO._64533) l 1

By letter dated January 20,.1987.. Portland General Electric Company requested a change to the Trojan Technical Specifications (LCA 150) regarding the  !

disconnection of power.from the accumulator isolation valves operator. The i proposed change would replace the requirement to specifically disconnect' power i' to these valves by removal of the breaker from the circuit, with a more general requirement that would allow the use of a lockout feature on the' accumulator isolation valve control room switches.

We have reviewed your submittal and find that additional information is required before we can complete our review. We ask that you provide the requested information contained in Enclosure 1 within 60 days from receipt of 4 this letter, or provide an alternative schedule for doing so within 15 days.

The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements of this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.

t the accumulator isolation valve control room switches referred to in your January 20, 1987 letter.

2. Provide a description of the procedure you intend to use to accomplish the proposed surveillance requirement (4.5.1.C) to verify that power to the isolation valves operator is disconnected. This is the procedure that l would involve the use of the lockout feature on the accumulator isolation valve control room switches.
