Highway'P Hematite, Missouri. 63047 s-Gentlemen: i This is in response to your letter dated June 29, 1987, in which you requested a one-time exception from the requirement of 10 CFR 70.51(f)(3)(ii).

We have found your request to be reasonable and warranted. We have also determined that the granting of your request will not adversely affect the '

common defense and security nor the public health and safety, and is otherwise in the public interest. Accordingly, we are hereby adding an unnumbered license condition' to the Safeguards Amendment MPP-3 of your-License No. SNM-33, effective immediately, and which expires after July .7,1987. This unnumbered license condition reads as follows:

Notwithstanding the requirement of 10 CFR 70.51(f)(3)(ii) to remeasure, at the ' time of physical inventory, previously measured containers of special nuclear material whose prior measurement values have not been assured by tamper-safing, the licensee may verify the prior measurement values of U02 1 ts that are.on hand at the time of the July 7,.1987 physical inventory by utilizing the verification procedure described in its' June 29, 1987 letter to NRC, Division of Safeguards and Transportation.
