and closed an allegation pertaining to inadequate security screening
~ documentation for some' contractor personnel by an identified contractor. ._
Subsequent to issuing the report, it was determined that the Commonwealth
Edison Company.and the NRC received somewhat different information from the
person making the allegation. As a result, your auditors were not able~ to
reviewLall aspects of the. concern.
Therefore, Commonwealth Edison Company is
. requested to re-examine the issue along with the informat' ion contained in the-
e'nclosure and: inform NRC Region III of any changes to your previous conclusions.
.The enclosure to this-letter should be strictly controlled and distribution
limited to personnel only with a "need-to-know." The enclosure to this letter
is considered as Exempt from Public Disclosure in accordance with Title 10,
code of Federal Regulations, Part 2.790(a)(7) until the issue is resolved.
We request that the Commonwealth Edison Company fully analyze the information
contained.in the enclosure to this letter and advise us in writing of.the
resolution of the issue within 30 days after receipt of this letter.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Coninission's regulations, a copy of
this letter, excluding the enclosure, will be placed in the NRC Public
Document Room.
The response directed by this. letter is not subject to the clearance procedure
of the Office of Management and. Budget as required by the Paperwork Reduction
Act of 1980, PL-96-511.
