Gentlemen:
SUBJECT:
INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-338/87-14 AND 50-339/87-14
Thank you - for your response of June 29, 1987, to our Notice of Violation,
issued on May 28, 1987, concerning activities conducted at your North Anna
facility.
We have evaluated your response and found that it meets the
requirements of 10 CFR 2.201.
It is our understanding from your response that
surveys will be performed in steam generators during the next two refueling
outages to verify the lens of the eye correction factors.
It should be
recognized that the beta fields (spectrum and intensity) at a facility are
subject to changes.
Therefore, validation of the adequacy of the lens of the
eye correction factor should constitute a continuous part of your routine
i
l
radiation protection program.
We will examine the implementation of your
)
corrective actions during future inspections.
j
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
J
Sincerely,
'
,
