Crystal River', Florida. 32629

Dear Mr. Wilgus:

SUBJECT:

CRYSTAL RIVER UNIT 3 - REACTOR COOLANT PUMP TRIP (TAC NO. 49668)'

For the subject issue defined in Item II.K.3.5 of the TMI' Action Plan,. we had previously approved the Babcock & Wilcox 0wners Group (BWOG) methodologies in response to Generic Letter 86-05, noting plant-specific. information that needed to be addressed.

Florida Power Corporation has adopted and implemented the' d

BWOG methodology, and our review of the Crystal' River Unit 3 (CR-3) plant-specific information has progressed to the degree that we can conclude that the BWOG meth' dology.has significantly improved reactor safety, and that there are o

no major safety-significant concerns regarding the plant-specific information.

Therefore this issue-is considered satisfactorily resolved for CR-3 and our effort on the subject TAC is concluded.

Sincerely.
