Generic Letter 88-14 " Instrument Air Supply System Problems-Affecting '
Safety-Related Equipment" for the James A. FitzPatrick' Nuclear Power Plant.
Your letter described procedure reviews conducted in response to the generic R
letter, described plans to use an. experienced contractor,to review the instrument air system, and requested that the response date'for the; generic-letter be. extended to July 3, 1989. Also, your: letter explained thatL tests of the. instrument air. system, if required, cannot be performed until'.the Fall-1989 and Spring-1990 plant shutdowns.
Thestaffhasreviewedyourrequestand'concludedthat(the" ext'nsionofthe e
tesponse date to July 3, 1989_is satisfactory.
It is' assumed that the tesponse which is submitted by this date will include all applicable items of-s the generic. letter based en the results of,the. contractor review and will present plans to perform certain tests of the' instrument air system to_be completed prior to startup from the 1990. refueling outage. Also, it is, expected that written notification to the staff of completion'of a11' work items relating to this generic letter will be generated prior to the'startup.
