Inspection Report No. 50-322/87-16
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Messrs. Clay C.
Warren and Frank J. Crescenzo on July 11, 1987 through August 30, 1987 at the
Shoreham Nuclear Power Station, Wading River, New' York. This inspection
consisted of observations of activities, interviews with personnel, and
document reviews. The results of this inspection are described in the
enclosed NRC Region I inspection report and were discussed with members of
your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Your attention is directed to paragraph 7. of this report where four incidents
of sleeping on duty are discussed. Although you appear to be taking adequate
corrective actions in the specific cases noted, this type of problem remains a
concern to the NRC. Your continued attention to this area is warranted.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
No reply to this letter is required. Your cooperation with us is in this
matter is appreciated.
