Gentlemen:
This refers to the special safeguards inspection conducted by Mr. J. R. Kniceley
of this office on June 22-26, and July 6, 1987, of activities at Dresden
Nuclear Power Station, Units 1, 2, and 3, authorized by hRC Operating Licenses
No. OPR-02, No. DPR-19, and DPR-25 and to our telephone discussion of our
findings with Mr. B. Saunders at the conclusion of the inspection.
The inspection was conducted to review an allegation of inconsistent

application of Background Screening Requirements between various Commonwealth
i
Edison Plants. The enclosed copy of our inspection report identified areas
examined during the inspection ano consisted of examination of licensee records
!
and interviews with personnel.

No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
