Gentlemen:
This refers to the Enforcement Conference conducted by Mr. A. Bert Davis and
other members of the NRC Staff on February 8,1989, at the Region III Office
in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, regarding the apparent violations identified in NRC
Inspection Report No. 50-341/89003(DRS) of activities at the Fermi 2 Nuclear
Power Station, authorized by NRC Operating License No. NPF-43 and to the
discussion of our findings with you and other members of your staff.
It
also refers to the meeting which preceded the Enforcement Conference conducted
by Mr. John Stang, NRR Project Manager for Fermi 2, with Region III personnel
and members of your staff relative to ATWS technical issues.
The enclosed copy of our report identifies those matters discussed during the
conference and the technical meeting.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy
of this letter and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document
Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning the Enforcement
Conference and the ATWS technical meeting.
