L provide :a report discussing the overall integrated evaluation of Vogtle
-Unit-1 operating events with special. emphasis on organizational, interface, and: interdisciplinary problems.. You provided GPC's response to this request
. by your. letter. dated July 22, 1987.-
The. report does not; provide a self; assessment of such organizational, interface, and interdisciplinary issues as teamwork, communications, and management that appears to be warranted from the events. The programs described'in.the report are for the most part not new.
However, you do' point out that additional empha-sis is.being placed on their implementation. ~ This was discussed with you at the meeting held.on September 10, 1987, at the Vogtle site.
At this point, we are not requesting GPC to supplement its report. However, we will continue to closely follow Vogtle Unit 1 operations and look forward to the-next meeting at which your operational program will be further discussed.- '-I am considering spending a week at the Vogtle site to view Vogtle operations first hand by spending time ~ in the control room, observing i
GPC management and operations meetings, and talking with cognizant GPC employees. The Project Manager will advise you of my decision.
