(p' l.0 PURPOSE This procedure describes the cooldown and depressurization of a unit from a hot shutdown p

condition to a cold shutdown condition. This procedure is appilcabic for conditions ranging f

from short term cold shutdown through a refueling shutdown.

2.0 PRECAUTIONS AND LIMITATIONS

NOTE:

A.sterisk (*) Indicates a Technical Specification requirement.

g.

5 CRDM(s) will not be energized urdess at least ent RCP is in operation. If 2.1.2

'g no RCP is in operation, all control rods will be inserted and all CRDMs deenergized as soon as possible. An exception is made for approved tests that specify reactor trip breakers shut and no RCP operating.

h 2.2 ILCh 2.2.1 All RCP operations must be performed within the requirements of Op-4B, h

" Reactor Coolant Pump Operation."

2.2.2

'the charging line flow control vahe must be adjusted as necessary to l

maintain the RCP seal fiow within the requirements of OP-4B.

2.2.3*., 3Vhen the reactor is suberitical and the average RCS temp. is > 350'F, e

except for tests, at least one RCP shall be in operation.

Both RCPs may be secured provided:

a. No RCS boron dilution operations are permitted,

b. RCS subcooling is maintained a10*F, and

At least one itCP should be kept'iri service during operation of the RIIR 2.2.5 system during periods of little decay heat with a solid RCS. If pmp operation is secured, colder water will accumulate in the loop and on restaning an RCP, a transient will occur. T'.c RCP should not be restarted in this condition unless absolutely necessary.

If an RCP needs to be started under this condition. the following recovery procedure should be followed:
