MILLSTONE NUCLEAR POWER STATION. UNIT 1 - CORRECTION OF AMENDMENT NO. 103 (TAC N05. M98833 AND MA1239)
Dear Mr. Bowling:
By letter dated October 27, 1997, the Commission issued License Amendment No. 103 to facility Operating License No. DPR-21 for the Millstone Nuclear Power Station. Unit 1.
In a letter dated March 9.1998, you provided clarification of the information provided in the NRC's October 27, 1997.
letter.
The NRC staff has reviewed your comments and agrees with your clarifications.
Specifically, the attachment page to the amendment indicating page removal and insert, inadvertently listed Bases page B 3/4 1-2 instead of B 3/4 1-2a.
Additionally the phrase or rod block protection" has been deleted from the following sentence in the staff's associated Safety Evaluation:
This new requirement enhances safety by ensuring that reactor power will not be increased or decreased into a new neutron region without adequate indication.
Also, the staff noted that the introductory caragraph on the attachment page to the amendment should have referenced " Appendix A. Technical Specifications" pages as being replaced: not the Operating License.
