BOMB THREAT At 1:55 pm, PDT, on June 30, 1981, the Bechtel sw'itchboard (site contractor at Units 2 and 3) received a phone call from a male caller who identified himself as Dave. The caller stated that plastic explosives had been placed inside the reactor at Unit 1, and that if it wasn't shut down by tomorrow afternoon (July 1) he would blow i' up. Unit 1 was operational at the time of the call.
A search of the facility was conducted and met with negative results, The Provost Marshal at Camp Pendleton, and the FBI have been informed. The state of California has been notified. No media interest is expected, and no press release is planned by the licensee or Region V. The IAT has been informed.
