Polestar requested that the proprietary version of these documents be withheld from public disclosure aursuant to 10 CFR 2.790. Non-proprietary versions

were also included in.tle submittal.

. Polestar stated that-the information should be considered exempt from mandatory public disclosure for the'following reasons:

analysis, design, assurance of quality, or licensing of a similar product: and (8) The information identified [as listed] above. is classified as proprietary because it contains detailed information on models in current software that were developed by Polestar and are justified from numerous benchmark exercises and applications, detailed results of these models and analytical methods, and computer codes that Polestar has developed, documented, and is maintaining under the Polestar 10 CFR Part 50. Appendix B. Quality Assurance Program. The model results are from a)plications of the revised DBA source term to the Perry Nuclear Power plant in support of Centerior Energy.

We have reviewed your submittal and the material in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 2.790 and, on the basis of Polestar's statements. have determined that the submitted information sought to be withheld contains trade secrets or proprietary commercial information. Therefore, the versions of the submitted information marked as proprietary will be withheld from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790(b)(5) and Section 103(b) of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954.-as amended.

Withholding from public inspection shall not effect the right, if any, of persons properly and directly concerned to inspect the document. If the need arises, we may send copies of this information to our consultants working in this area. We will, of course, insure that the consultants have signed the appropriate agreements for handling proprietary information.

If r%; basis for withholding this information from public inspection should change in the future such that the information could then be made available for public inspection, you should promptly notify the NRC. You should also understand that the NRC may have cause to review this determination in the future, for example, if the scope of a Freedom of Information Act recuest includes your information. In all review situations if the NRC neecs additional information from you or makes a determination adverse to the above, you will be notified in advance of any public disclosure.
