On March 30,1998, NSP and the NRC staff held a meeting on various aspects of the Monticello i power rerate program including environmental qualification and Motor Operated Valve (MOV) design. NSP stated that it would provide an additional evaluation of the margin between the test profile and the 1880 MWt DBA LOCA profile for certain Monticello plant equipment. This j

, evaluation demonstrates additional margin by using an analysis method that is more l

representative of the actual accident profile. The evaluation is provided as Attachment 1 to this i letter. Subsequent to this meeting, the staff and NSP held a conference call concerning the operation of MOVs under power rerate conditions on April 6,1998. NSP stated that supplementary information on MOVs would be provided. This information is provided as Attachment 2.

l

! A comprehensive list of all rerate commitments to date is included in this letter as Attachment 3. l NSP recognizes that these commitments will likely be incorporated into the MNGP license. j Please contact Joel Beres at (612) 295-1436 if additionalinformation is required.
