EXTENSION OF SCHEDULE - REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -

REQUIRED CRITICALITY SAFETY ANALYSIS SUMMARIES (TAC NOS. L30812 AND L30862)

Dear Mr. Goodwin:

Mr. Craig Hrabal of my staff is planning to travel to Westinghouse to review the CSEs for UNH Bulk Storage Tanks and Powder Blending during the week of March 30 through April 3,1998.

As discussed in a previous trip report, current Westinghouse CSE/CSA summary submittats do not have enough information for NRC staff to perform an adequate review. Therefore, the NRC requests that you send Section 1 (Process Description) and Section 5 (Safety Analysis) of these CSEs for my staff to review before the aforementioned trip. The NRC will handle these sections as proprietary, if needed, and will docket them accordingly.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Mr. Charles E. Gaskin at (301) 415-8116 or e-mail CEG1@NRC. GOV.

Sincerely, Original signed b.y:
