ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RECEIPT OF RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (TAC N0. L30812)
Dear Mr. Williams:
We have received your response to our request for additional information for Materials License SNM-1107 transmitted by letters dated November 14 and December 3,1996, and have completed the initial administrative review.
4 During the initial review, we determined the following information is necessary in Item 5:
List all parameters that define the safety basis for the Criticality Safety Evaluation (CSE) or Criticality Safety Analysis (CSA) in Table 6.2.3 of your license (contrary to your response to Item 5).
All parameters whose safety bases are justified either by double contingency or redundancy and diversity (if double contingency is not practical) should be listed in Table 6.2.3.
At least two parameters are used to guarantee double j
contingency and are identified in your CSE or CSA, which establish the parameters being used to provide a safety basis for the process being analyzed.
Based on our administrative reviews and projection of current review schedules, we would anticipate completing our review by 90 days from our receipt of the revised Table 6.2.3.
This date could change depending on the findings of our technical review, urgent assignments, or other factors. We will promptly communicate any significant changes to this schedule.
A copy of your correspondence has been forwarded to our License Fee and Accounts Receivable Branch, Office of the Controller, who will contact you separately if the appropriate license fee has not been submitted for your request, or for billing if your request is subject to full cost fee recovery.
