In the Ref erence 1 letter, the Staff requested that we submit certified typed pages for the Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC) Improved Technical Specifications (ITS). to this letter provides our certified typed TS and BASES pages which includes the changes resulting from our discussions with the Staff subsequent to Reference 2. Attachment I contains a listing of those changes. In addition, we corrected typographical errors that we found during the final typing and proofreading and revised j
the "LCO" section of the BASES for ITS 3.5.1 to delete a statement regarding the OPERABILITY of the LPCI System during suppression pool cooling mode. This statement should have been deleted with the corresponding changes in ITS Revision B as

NQ-98-0543 March 31.1998 Page 2 0f 3 In Refe'rence 2, we agreed to provide the Staff with revised Discussions of Change (DOCS) showing the planned final destination of those items relocated from the current TS, i.e., "R-DOCS." Enclosure 2 to this letter contains an updated copy of all the DOCS, which includes the revised R-DOCS. The updated R-DOCS contain the information from the " Relocated items" summary matrix provided in our previous ITS submittals.
Lastly, Enclosure 3 contains the revisions to the Justifications for Deviation (JFDs) and revised Responses to those Questions impacted by the Attachment I changes. While contains a complete set of DOCS, for the Staff's convenience, Enclosure 3 also includes the revisions to the DOCS for the Attachment I changes. Only the affected pages for the DOCS, JFDs and Responses are included in Enclosure 3.
The following new commitment is made by this letter:
Items described as " Relocated" from the current DAEC TS as part of the conversion to ITS (i.e., R-DOCS) will be incorporated into the target documents discussed within the individual R-DOCS of Enclosure 2 to this letter and will be subject to the change control requirements of that target document. These changes will be incorporated with the next required update of the target document.
A copy of this submittal is being forwarded to our appointed state official pursuant to 10 CFR Section 50.91.
