NRC:RI Inspection 50-317/87-06, 50-318/87-06
This transmits the March 1 - April 13, 1987 resident inspection findings by Messrs.
T. Foley and D. Trimble at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Lusby, Maryland.
Those findings were based on observation of activities,. interviews, and document
reviews and were discussed with you and Mr. Lemons of your staff.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
We noted during the inspection period,-and after as well, that you were experienc-
ing difficulty with final resolution of the environmental qualification issues that
arose during this period. As we have discussed on several occasions recently, I
understand that you will send a letter to the NRC Region I Regional Administrator,
prior to restarting either Unit 1 or Unit 2, stating that all equipment required
to be environmentally qualified meets the requirements of 10 CFR 50.49.
