EQUIPMENT QUALIFICATION INSPECTION OF MAINE YANKEE NUCLEAR
POWER STATION (INSPECTION NO. 50-309/87-16)
This letter confirms the dates of July 20 - 24, 1987 for the NRC equipment
qualification (EQ) inspection for Maine Yankee Nuclear Power Station.
These
dates were established during a previous telephone conversation with
Mr. Douglas Whittier on June 9, 1987 by Mr. Leonard Cheung of this office.
The
inspection will take place at the plant site.
A management entrance meeting is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on July 20, 1987 with
a management exit meeting tentatively scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on June 24, 1987
at the plant site. A plant walkdown inspection of specific EQ equipment is
planned for Wednesday, July 22, 1987.
The inspection will include the following:
1.
Review of your implementation of 10 CFR 50.49 EQ program, including
preservation of qualified status of equipment.
2.
Review of your implementation of Technical Evaluation Reprt/ Safety
Evaluation Report EQ corrective action commitments.
3.
Review of EQ documentation files.
4.
Physical inspection of equipment from the Master List.
At least one week prior to the inspection we will require one copy of each
document identified in attachment 1 with a plus (+) mark.
A duplicate copy is to be sent to:
