Dear Mr. Taylor:
This is in response to your letter dated August 5, 1986, regarding the scram reduction efforts which are under way at the Lacrosse Boiling Water Reactor.
I appreciate your bringing to my attention, the company's efforts in dealing with aging hardware systems.
This has been a matter of some concern to us of late, and we have planned a special inspection to look into this area.
I also appreciate the other information you provided, and your request for a meeting to discuss your operations and directions. We have a SALP meeting coming up, which we will try to finnly schedule within the next month, and I suggest that

we plan to discuss this issue at the time of that meeting.
