This report forwards the findings of the Emergency Preparedness Implementation

Appraisal (EPIA) follow up inspection which was conducted May 18-20, 1987 by

Messrs. E. Fox, Jr. and C. Gordon of this of fice at your Beaver Valley Power

Station Unit 2, Shippingport, Pennsylvania. Discussions of our findings were

,

held by Mr. Fox with Mr. Pavlechko and other members of your staff at the

l

conclusion of the inspection.

The areas examined during this inspection were limited to reviewing your

corrective actions taken on the findings and improvement items identified

l

during the Emergency Preparedness Appraisal (Inspection No. 87-14) conducted on

l

March 2-6, 1987. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective

examinations of procedures, representative records, interviews with personnel,

and observations by the inspectors.

Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed. All

emergency preparedness items in need of correction prior to fuel load have

,

been corrected. Other items requiring corrective action are summarized in

l

section 4 of the inspection report and are categorized as to whether they must

l

be corrected prior to initial criticality or full power operations.
