Inspection Report No. 50-333/86-14
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. L. S. Cheung of
this office on August 25 - 28, 1986, at FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant,
Scriba, N.Y. of activities authorized by NRC License No. DRP-59 and to the
discussions of our findings held by Mr. L. Cheung with yoa at the conclusion of
the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that one of your activities
was not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements (Okonite cable
splices) as identified in the enclosed report.
In this regard, we are
considering appropriate enforcement action and will inform you of our decision
in the future.
Your corrective actions regarding the identified deficiencies should not be
delayed pending either a future NRC inspection or further action by the NRC
Region I office.
Your cooperation with us in this matter is appreciated.
