Generic Letter 83-28, Item 2.1 (Part 2) Vendor Interface Programs for RTS Components - Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2 (1ACS 57743/64172)

By Generic Letter 83-28, Item 2.1 (Part 2), you were requested to confirm that Duke Power Company established an interface with either the NSSS or with the vendors of each of the components of the Reactor Trip System, and to confirm that this interface program includes periodic communications between Duke Power Company and the vendor and a system of positive feedback which confinns receipt by Duke Power Company of transmittals of technical information.

We have reviewed your response to Item 2.1 (Part 2) transmitted by letter dated November 4,1983.

Enclosed is our SER in which we find your response to be acceptable.

Part I to Item 2.1 was previously accepted by NRC [[letter::05000413/LER-1986-032, :on 860616,steam Generator PORV Surveillance Interval Exceeded.Caused by Personnel Error.Steam Generator PORVs Tested & Periodic Test Program Revised to Include New Test Frequency|letter dated July 16, 1986]]. Accordingly, we consider Item 2.1 to be closed for Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2.
