This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. N. M. Terc of this office during

the period May 18-22, 1987, of activities authorized by NRC Operating

Licenses DPR-51 and NPF-6 for Arkansas Nuclear One, and to the discussion of

our findings with Mr. E. Ewing, General Manager, Plant Support, and other

members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.

Areas examined during the inspection included licensee's audits, shift staffing

and augmentation, changes to the emergency preparedness program, and

notifications and communications.

The inspection findings are documented in the enclosed inspection report.

Within the scope of the inspection, no violations, deviations, or deficiencies

were identified.

We have also examined actions you have taken with regard to previously

identified inspection findings. The status of these items is identified in

paragraph 2 of the enclosed report.
