McGuire Nuclear Station Docket Nos. 50-369, 50-370 Centlemen:
By letter dated March 23, 1987, NRC provided the Staff's Safety Evaluation Report and contractor's Technical Evaluation Report documenting the results of Staff review of McGuire submittals-regarding conformance to Regulatory Guide (RG) 1.97, Revision 2.
NRC has determined that steam generator level is needed over the range from tube sheet to separators to indicate integrity of the secondary system and the capa-bility of decay heat removal, as noted in RG 1.97.
- 'e Staff has requested a schedule for compliance with the requirement to install and make operational environmentally qualified and seismic Category I wide range instrumentation.
Duke is continuing to evaluate this request and will provide a response by June 19, 1987.
