Inspection Report 50-353/86-15
This refers to the routine resident safety inspection by Mr. R. A. Gramm on
September 29 - November 2,1986 at the Limerick Generating Station, Unit 2,
Limerick, ~ Pennsylvania of activities authorized by NRC License No. CPPR-107
and to the discussions held by Mr. Gramm with Mr. J. M. Corcoran and other
members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
The conduct of-an ASME hydrotest was observed to have been improperly performed
as both quality control and field engineering personnel did not visually examine
all.of the requisite weld joints. This example of inadequate inspection has
been cited in the enclosed Appendix A, Notice of Violation. However, based on
the corrective actions implemented by Philadelphia Electric Company no response
is required to this' violation.
