50-339 REPORT MONTH May UNIT NAME NA-2 YEAR 1986 DATE 06-02-86 COMPLETED BY Brenda Garner 86-05 (1)

May 29, 1985 at 1055, Reactor trip occurred while Unit was at 935 MW - 100Y, power.

The negative flux rate trip signal was caused by the opening of the stationary coil power supply disconnect to the rod control power distribution cabinet IAC, which caused 12 rods to drop into the core.

The cause of-the disconnect switch to open was inadvertent physical agitation from personnel painting above the rod control cabinets while standing on the rod control cabinets.

May 30, 1986 at 1952, Unit returned on line and repairs were completed.
