Sn ??P AND 50-339 INTDOCUCTION Rv letter dated dure 30, 1986, the Virginir Flectric and Powar Comparv (the licenseei subrdtted proposed Technical Specification ITS) chances for the North Anna Dower Station, Units 1 and 2 (NA-1&?). The pronosed chances would increase the frecisency of surveillence for the # ire DumD diesal encira for No-1 and delete a portion of tha surveillance reouirement for the fire pump diesel starting ?4-volt hattery bank and charaar for NA-1&2. The proposed charcas would also make minor sentence structure changes for N/-1 to make then identical to NA-?.

We have reviewed the proposed chances and #ind them to be acceptable as discussed below.

DISCUSSION The NA-? TS for the fire pump diesel engine presentiv recuires demonstrated operability at least once per 31 days by verifying that:

"The diesel starts from ambient conditions and operates for at least

?O minutes on recirculation flow."

The presert NA-1 TS requires at least once per 18 months, during shutdovn.
