It has come to light that a defect may exist in some valves listed on the enclosed lists. The Owners (or Architect / Engineer for Hope Creek >and Limerick) have been notified of the possible defect, concurrent with this' notification to you.
NL__ {EC It was discovered that there was a mix in the stem material in the lot of stems used on the valves listed in the attachment. The correct material is Magnetic 17-4ph material. The suspect material is a Non-Magnetic material.
Samples have been sent to a Lab for Alloy identification.
Once the Alloy is identified Dragon Valves, Inc engineering will perform an Evaluation to assess possible impact on the valves. The Owners or Architect /
Engineers and the NRC will be notified of the results of the Evaluation and our recommendations.
The NRC will be kept appraised of all significant developments as well as actions decided upon by the Owners or Architect / Engineers and Dragon Valves, Inc.
