This refers to the inspection conducted by Messrs. D. J. Willett and J. Melfi
of this office on October 20-24, 1986, of activities authorized by NRC
License No. DPR-54, and to the discussion of our findings held by Mr. Willett
with Mr. P. Poole and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection.
.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the enclosed
inepection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective
examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel,'and observations by the inspector.
Although no violations of NRC requirements were identified within the scope of-
this inspection, the inspectors did observe that your organization apparently
does not have an effective tracking system for NUREG 0737 action items. We
are concerned that the lack of an effective tracking system will inhibit
prompt accurate completion of the actions required by NUREG 0737. We request
that you' review your efforts in this area.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure
will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
