Combined Inspection Nos. 50-277/86-15 and 50-278/86-16
A routine safety inspection of your annual emergency preparedness exercise was
conducted by Mr. C. Gordon of this office and other members of an NRC team on
October 8-10, 1986, at your Peach Bottom Power Station, Delta, Pennsylvania.
Discussions of our findings were held by Mr. Gordon with Mr. Leitch and other
members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed. Within these areas the inspection
consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records,
interviews with personnel, and observation of the emergency exercise by team
members.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
PECo's
performance during the exercise demonstrated the ability to implement the
Emergency Plan and Emergency Plan Implementing Procedures in a manner to
provide protective measures for the health and safety of the public.

matter is-appreciated.
