Dear Mr. Musolf:
The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment Nos. 80 and 73 to Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-42 and DPR-60 for the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant, Unit Nos. 1 ar.d 2, in response to your application dated July 15, 1986.
The amendments change the technical specifications (TS) by revising the following:
1.
The effective limitation of existing reactor coolant system heatup and cooldown curves are revised from ten to 15 effective full power years.
2.
The Radiation Environmental Monitoring Program is revised in areas dealing with radionuclides, corn sampling, lower limit of detection of iodine 131 and airborne sampling locations of radiofodine and particulates.
These revisions consist of corrections, clarifications and the elimination of potential inconsistencies.
3.
Changes are made to Design Features, Section 5 of the technical specifications reflecting changes associated with 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix I involving method for processing radioactive wastes and other administrative changes.
4.
Changes are made clarifying the management review of the Security Plans implementing procedures.
5.
The Administrative, Section 6 is changed by deleting the requirements of environmental qualification of electrical equipment and other editorial changes.
The issuance of these amendments completes our work effort under TAC Nos.
62137 and 62138.
