REPORT NO. 50-348/86-29
Thank you for your response of April 23, 1987 to our Notice of Violation,
issued on March 27, 1987 concerning activities conducted at your Farley
facility. We have evaluated your response and found that it meets the require-
ments of 10 CFR 2.201.
With regard to your contention on Violation B that
Action Statement b of Technical Specification 3.5.3 should have been cited
instead of Action Statement a, we offer this additional explanation.
The major
portion of the piping system that was technically inoperable was common to
Action Statements a and b.
Action Statement a is more restrictive than b,
therefore, it was cited in the violation. We will examine the implementation
of your corrective actions during future inspections.
